If you take the courageous step to start counseling it is important your therapist is a good fit. To help you in your search – my style is curious, empathic, collaborative, and warm with a touch of humor. I specialize in anxiety, depression and trauma which are often intertwined and can be difficult to address when seen as separate issues. Using your inherent strengths, I’ll guide you in working through the radical redesign of unhelpful thinking and coping patterns, trauma related belief structures and internal dialogue patterns. Together, we will create a path towards more satisfying life experiences, helpful coping skills, authentic relationships and building a network of natural support to aid you on your journey forward.
I often rely on my experience of providing clinical services in a variety of settings to clients ranging in age from child to elder adult in Indiana, Maryland and Virginia. Throughout my journey, I have had the privilege to serve clients that are working through mental health issues and major life transitions as well as everyday stressors. Specifically, I have worked at Sheppard Pratt Hospital with the geriatric population and their families, HVAF of Indiana serving the veteran population and St. Vincent Stress Center working both inpatient and outpatient with clients of all ages. In addition, I have been serving the community of Northern Virginia as an outpatient clinician specializing in issues associated with life transitions, trauma and role identity.
You can count on me to be a supportive and interactive therapist, offering honest, authentic feedback and suggestions. I will work with you individually, as a couple or family, depending on what will be most helpful and appropriate to your situation. I feel it is my honor to be able to be a client’s journey toward increased insight and life satisfaction. I feel like a part of the NOVA community having relocated to Leesburg, Virginia in 2020 with my husband, son and pup Lerry where we enjoy spending time together hiking and being outside as much as possible. I often can be found escaping out to the garden in my free time.
